Utopia, 2011. Performance/lecture with Iggy Malmborg.

Relating to how worms move through their surroundings by eating them, breaking them down and taking them through their bodies, in combination with the discussions we had about different kinds of family relations, sexuality and love, we wanted to see the possibilities of using sexuality to break down materials that are difficult to recycle. We were making out with synthetic materials in the room, like cables, plastic cups, rubber carpets, sound equipment and other things.

For "Utopiskt montage" in Riddarhyttan 2011 all participants were asked to work on the theme "Utopia". For me and Iggy Malmborg working together, the starting point was our own relation as a couple and a family with a child. It became a discussion about what a relation can embrace, and what it might not, in what way a family situation could be a utopia, and the violence in the dream of two becoming one.

The video stills are showing the two of us very carefully trying to connect two worms. We are cutting small parts of their ends away and then sticking them together to make them one worm, using tape.
